About
Who is in charge of this?
The whole rathzem production is manned by Ginger Hoesly. She is responsible for everything, from moderating to communications, sales to design, shipping to tweeting. Ginger is an illustrator and graphic designer with 7 years of experience in the professional art world, including but not limited to commercial printing, designing for web and print, book production, shipping worldwide, and herding cats.
Ginger has self-published novels and artbooks, and has designed and assisted in the printing of program books, annual reports, wedding catalogs, and cookbooks, both from her day job and in a freelance capacity. Her illustrative work has appeared at San Diego ComicCon, on tour at the Doctor Who World Tour, on television with BBC America’s “Doctor’s Notes”, in an episode of “The Doctor Who Fan Show” as accompanying illustrations for “The Gift” short story, been featured on the website “Anglophenia”, and a whole lot of other stuff.
In addition to rathzem projects but still on the zine side, she has been the graphics and layout mod for Gokigen na Chou, a 20th anniversary Digimon zine, and Lawsuits: An Ace Attorney Girls Fashion Zine.
What is rathzem?
This is the self-proclaimed witty moniker for zines produced by Ginger, aka, an unofficial publishing line. If you can guess what it stands for, then thank you and I hope you think it’s amusing.
The goal of rathzem publications is for creatives to come together to raise money for a variety of causes that they could not accomplish alone. The first zine of this project was The Hybrid, which raised over $2,000 for the One to One Children’s Fund. The second zine, Moon Man, raised over $2,000 for the Glasgow School of Art. The third zine, A Pile of Good Things, raised over $1,000 for The Cancer Research Institute.
The current project, Red Velvet, will be benefiting The Humanitarian Aid Program for Venezuela. Profits from sales of other products on this store will be donated to them as well.
